I have been in the workforce for more than 30 years. Whenever I was happy or troubled at work or in my private life, the people who were always there for me were my friends from club, my dormitory mates (Sophia University had a women’s dormitory at that time), and my classmates from my department. They were the kind of people with whom I could instantly connect even if there was a short gap between us.
At a time when there were still few working women, it was a great encouragement to meet women who had graduated from Sophia University. The friends and alumnae I have met at Sophia University are indispensable in my life.
I will be the ASF Executive Committee Chair for 2021 and I am honored to take this role.
This year’s event will be held virtually due to the effects of COVID-19, as last year, but the Executive Committee are working hard to prepare a variety of content. We hope to make it a day where people can meet up with old friends after a long time, or get inspired to work hard again for next day. I hope to make it a day like that.
Please come and join to our Virtual ASF.
What is All Sophians’ Festival (ASF)?
All Sophians’ Festival (ASF) is a homecoming day for all sophians, held on the last Sunday of May every year. The event is open not only to Sophia a lumni/alumnae and their families, but also to students, faculty, staff, and neighbors, and usually more than 10,000 people participated.
Last year, the event has been held online in consideration of the impact of COVID-19.
Virtual All Sophians’ Festival 2021 (ASF 2021) will be held on Sunday, May 30.
The format of the event is completely different from the offline version, but we hope to enjoy the change and provide a meaningful time for everyone.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your great cooperation in the “Sophia University 100th Anniversary Fund”.
After that, the “SOPHIA Fund for the Future” was launched in the spring of 2014.
Sophia University Alumni Association(SUAA) Donation
SUAA is managed mainly by the “Life Membership Fee” paid by all members and the “Maintenance Fee (Administrative Fee)” which paid voluntarily. In order to maintain and develop the SUAA, it is necessary to increase the amount of “SUUA Maintenance Fee (Administrative Fee)” with your continuously support.
Sophia Festival Donation
In order to continue the Sophia Festival, which provides a valuable opportunity for various students, we would like to ask for your support. In the past, we have raised funds through donations, but this year we are planning to use crowdfunding to pay back those who have helped us in any way they can.
